Glossier’s New Solution

I have never really had a major problem with my acne. On me, though I do have patches of pimples and a few occasional flare-ups in random spots thanks to hormones. My trouble areas are my chin, around my nose, and on my forehead ( T zone).  Nothing really worked to really get them under control until my fav skincare brand Glossier came out with their solution ( literally that’s what they call it… original right). The Solution is a daily face exfoliator and it is used once a day after cleansing your face. When using you want to press the cotton pad on the pump and pump down and sweep it across your face and neck, once done you want to allow the Solution to absorb into the skin then follow with a face moisturizer and sunscreen.

The Solution’s key ingredients are Salicylic Acid and this has BHA that reduces acne and unclogs pores by breaking oil bonds that attach to dead skin cells to the skin. The Solution also contains Glycolic Acid and this has brightening AHA which break water bonds that attach dead skin cells to the skin and this helps improve the tone and texture of your skin. Lactic Acid is also in Glossier’s Solution and the AHA helps reduce dark spots on your face. Gluconolactone is in the Solution as well and this had the PHA that exfoliates the skin while also moisturizing and conditioning it as well. The last key ingredient that is in the Solution is Anti-Stress Complex and this has ultra-smoothing aloe, hydration glycerin, and claiming niacinamide. Right, when it came out I bought it and within a few weeks, I saw a difference in my trouble areas. It cut down on redness in those areas and also I didn’t see as much acne in those areas unless it was because of hormones. My skin was brighter and healthier look as well. It wasn’t too pricey and it lasts a while. The cost of  Glossier’s Solution is about 24 U.S dollars. This is what the Solution looks like.

Glossier did a trial and these were the results:

In a trial of Solution daily users, 3 out of 4 people said…
_Skin felt cleaner and softer; they felt Solution working right after they applied it.
_Skin looked smoother, brighter, and clearer.
_Pores were smaller and skin looked glowy; Solution reduced blackheads including around the nose.
_Solution unclogged pores and reduced redness; skin was more even.
_7 out of 10 people said skin looked transformed.
_3 out of 4 people said this was the solution they were looking for.
_In a poll of Solution daily users with acne-prone skin, 94% said their skin was clearer.

The only thing that bugs me about it is that it dries up my skin extremely fast so with that being said I have to moisturize my face more often. Besides that, I think that Glossier’s Solution is a must-have if you are struggling with acne. You have to use it twice a day after you wash your face and before you moisturize. If you are lazy like me about your skin care routine then I would say only use it in the evening after your long day to get off all the dirt and excess oils that are on your face and then use a rich night cream. I recommend Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer Rich. This moisturizer is a great night cream the rehydrates your skin. This product is 35 U.S dollars but I believe it to be a great purchase because the solution dries out your skin and this will help hydrate it and keep it smooth, also if you are not trying to spend so much on a face cream I also recommend Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer. This is less than the Priming Moisturizer, this product is $ 22 U.S dollar and it is not as rich in moisturizing the skin but it gets the job done if you don’t have that dry of skin and will work with hydrating after the solution. Both would work if you naturally have really dry skin. You can only find these items on their website at or at the showroom at 123 Lafayette St., Penthouse, New York, NY 10013.
